Obituary for William G. Sickles Sr.

William G.  Sickles Sr.
William G. Sickles Sr., 68, of Lucas Ave Ext, Kingston died suddenly Thursday, Nov. 9th, 2017 at home.

He was born in Poughkeepsie NY on December 20th, 1948, a son of the late Arthur and Jesse (Brown) Sickles.

A veteran of the US Army, where he served as an MP, he was employed by Aerus-Electrolux for over 25 years.

A hard-working man, Bill was an amazing father who was tremendously generous to others first. He enjoyed holidays and cooking, and especially loved his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving family, mother-in-law, Wanda M. Neilson of New Paltz, Art Hite, and his companion Cindy, of Manhattan, William Sickles Jr., and his fiance Tiana Angelides, of Kingston, Tiffany Anderson, and her husband Kenneth, of Hyde Park, Jason Sickles, of Rochester, Jamie King, and her husband Edmond, of Indiana, Dylan Sickles, of Kingston, Bonnie Boice, and her husband Daniel, of Kingston and their daughter Kayla of Kingston, grandchildren, Christopher and Jessica Hite of Long Island, William III and Christian Sickles of Highland, Kareese Rudolph and Jayda Anderson of Hyde Park, Hailey and Jason Sickles Jr. of Saugerties, Rachel and Matteo Salamone of Scotia, Deacon and Shea Sickles of Kingston, one sister Lauretta Farley. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He is predeceased by a granddaughter Kassidi Destenee, and his sister Emma.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus.

Cremation will later be held at Wiltwyck Crematory, followed by a private memorial service at the discretion of the family.

In lieu of fresh flowers, the family suggests indoor plants for loved ones to take home and nurture, or a contribution in Bill's memory to the American Heart Association, or to Bill's family, in care of Tiffany Anderson, 4 Royal Crest Rd, Apt. 4B3, Hyde Park, NY 12538.
