Obituary for Madelyn C. Strang

Madelyn C. Strang, 96, of Kingston, formerly of Albany, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021 at Mountain Valley Manor in Kingston.

Absent from the body present with the Lord. Spirit and Soul immediately in Heaven. Wrapped in the loving arms of Jesus, She is finally at home after 96 years on earth.

Born in Albany, NY, a daughter of the late Dewitt and Mary (Oliver) Chesebro.

A homemaker, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingston.

She is survived by one daughter, Janis Jansen of Port Ewen, and six wonderful grandchildren, Kathy (Scott) Herrling, Chris (Laura) Strang, Todd (Julie) Jansen, Bethany (Dave) Linscott, Susan Morrison, and Steve (Cheryl) Strang, Four Great-grandchildren, Alex Herrling, Brock III and Hailey Morrison, Emily Jansen.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Woodrow Strang (1994) and a son Garry Strang.

Madelyn surrendered her life to Jesus at a Youth for Christ Rally, it was a learning process, ever since drawing her nearer to the holy trinity, and always wanting more.

The family will receive friends during a walk-through visitation period at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Face coverings are required and social distancing will limit visitor capacity in the funeral home.

Both the service and interment in the Resurrected section of Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Madelyn's memory to a charity or church of choice.
