Lorraine L. Hutton, 83 of Belvedere St, Kingston died Saturday, October 27th, 2018 at HealthAlliance Hospital, Broadway Campus.
Lorraine was born in Jersey City, NJ on September 2nd, 1935, a daughter of the late Louis and Josephine (Murray) Lehe.
She was employed as a school teacher by the Kingston School District for 41 years, a tax preparer with H&R Block and a textbook author with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing.
Lorraine was a graduate of New Paltz college and received her masters degree from Iona college in New Rochelle. She sang with the Sweet Adelines and was a founding member of the Kingston Columbiettes. Lorraine could never get enough to read and was masterful at knitting and crocheting. Her passion for any sport was unparalleled and her favorite place in the world was near the ocean.
She is survived by her children, Mary Lou Hutton of Kingston, Jeanine Lindhorst of West Hurley, Ann Marie Mikolinis and Robert Hutton both of Kingston, and sisters, Frances Muniz of Lewis, Delaware and Joanne Somma of West Milford, NJ, grandchildren, Louis Hutton, Joel Lindhorst, Jillian Witte, Alexa Hutton, Nicole Beckvermit, Danielle Beckvermit, Ashley, Allison, Sean and Ryan Mikolinis, Kaitlyn Loucks, Matthew & Victoria Hutton and great-grandchildren, Jasiah, Janylah, Madelyn, Gabriel, Jonny and Kailani. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Lorraine is predeceased by a son, Al Hutton, son-in-law Ted Mikolinis, and brothers, Louis and Edward Lehe.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus.
A prayer service will begin at 5:00 pm officiated by Rev. John Kearney, followed by a ritual service held by the Columbiettes of Kingston, Saugerties and New Paltz at 6:00pm.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Friday, November 2, 2018, at Saint Catherine Laboure Church, 200 Tuyten Bridge Rd, Lake Katrine, Rev. John Kearney, celebrant. Burial will follow at Montrepose Cemetery.
