Obituary for Donald Leroy Lifer Sr.

Donald Leroy Lifer Sr., 84, of Albany Ave, formerly of Port Ewen, died Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 at HealthAlliance Hospital, Broadway Campus.

Don was born in Kingston, New York on August 18th, 1933, a son of the late William E. and Gladys Matilda (Jansen) Lifer.

A US Army Veteran, he was a long distance truck driver for Provan and for Teamsters local 445 and 702. He was a car enthusiast who enjoyed camping and fishing, including in the Ashokan Reservoir area.

He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Lifer of Port Ewen and Brenda Dooley of Long Island, and one son Donald L. Lifer Jr. of Port Ewen, and four grandchildren, Michael, Kris, and Sean Dooley, and Faith Ann Lifer, and former wife, Sally Ann Lifer of Port Ewen.

He is predeceased by one brother William Lifer Jr. and one sister Diane Lifer.

The family has entrusted the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus, with the care and cremation service arrangements for Don.

Cremation held at Wiltwyck Crematory, Kingston.

There is no service.
