Obituary for Barbara M. Lukaszewski

Barbara M. (Smith) Lukaszewski, 83, of Williams Street, Port Ewen, NY, passed away at home while in the comforting presence of her loving family on Thursday, April 29th, 2021.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 30th, 1937, a daughter of the late Raymond and Blanche (McAdams) Smith.

Her various employments included Barclay Knitwear, and then as a receptionist for the offices of Dr. Stuart Friedman, Dr. Tom Provenzano, and most recently as a emergency room receptionist for Kingston Hospital.

She enjoyed reading, ceramics, bowling, baking for her family and was a very big NY Yankee fan.

Barbara is survived by her children, Charles R. "Buddy" (Barbara A.) Lukaszewski of Kingston, Michael A. "Luke" (Roxanne) Lukaszewski of Port Ewen, and Douglas J. (Suzanne) Lukaszewski of Ballston Lake, NY, one sister, Blanche (Bill) Haight of Poughkeepsie, four grandchildren, Michael, Charles "CJ", Sarai, and Stevie, and five great-children, Troy, Lyric, Nolan, Charles Tyler and Landon John. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Charles A. "Bud" Lukaszewski, who passed on their 67th anniversary, January 24, 2021, infant son, Charles Joseph Lukaszewski (1954), and three sisters, Dorothy Winnie, Connie Fontenot and Susan Smart.

The family will receive friends during a walk-through memorial visitation period at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus, on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church followed by inurnment in the Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum will be held privately.
